These terms govern your use of webcards.co.uk. By claiming a card or opening an account, you agree to them.
In these terms, "we" and "us" mean webcards.co.uk and its operator (details in the last section), and "you" means the business using the service.
We may create and publish a free one-page digital business card for your company using information from the public Companies House register, and write to you to say it exists.
The free card is free, without conditions. You are not required to pay, subscribe, provide payment details, or agree to any future purchase in order to keep it. There is no trial that converts into a paid plan. If we ever have to stop offering free cards, existing ones will not be switched off without notice.
You are under no obligation to claim it, and you can ask us to remove it at any time by emailing hello@webcards.co.uk. We will do so without asking why.
Claiming binds a card to an account so that only you can edit it. You may only claim a card for a business you are authorised to represent. Claiming a card for a business you have no connection to is a breach of these terms and we will reverse it.
We use a one-time link to establish that you are the intended recipient. Treat that link as confidential until you have claimed the card, in the same way you would a password.
Each card has a fixed web address. We will not change it when you upgrade, downgrade or edit your card, because you may have printed it on signage, vehicles or business cards.
If you close your account or ask for removal, that address stops working, and we may re-use it after a reasonable period.
| Plan | What it includes | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Free card | One published page with your business details, and the marketing agent free for 45 days | Free, indefinitely |
| Templated site | Your photos, editable text, Google Maps location and additional sections | £9.99 per month |
| Custom site | A bespoke multi-page website, built to a brief | From £199 plus £20 per month, quoted individually |
Prices are stated on the site in pounds sterling. A custom site is agreed separately in writing before any work begins, and these terms apply alongside that agreement.
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance by Stripe. You can cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not refund part-months unless the law requires it.
If you stop paying, we do not take your page down. Your card reverts to the free version and stays online at the same address, so anything you have printed keeps working. The content only available on the paid plan is hidden rather than deleted, and comes back if you subscribe again.
If a payment fails we will email you before anything changes. We will not downgrade your card without telling you first.
Brandy, our marketing agent, answers marketing questions and compares your website, and optionally your shop's prices, with competitors you choose.
| How you use it | What you get |
|---|---|
| Without signing in | A free trial with weekly limits. Nothing is saved. |
| Signed in, without a paid plan | 45 days free, with your set-up and results saved. No payment details are needed and the trial does not turn into a paid plan. Afterwards your past results stay readable. |
| With a paid website plan | Included in the plan, within fair-use limits. |
Brandy's answers are written by AI. They are general marketing suggestions, not professional, legal or financial advice, and they can be incomplete or wrong — including prices and details read from other websites, which may be out of date. Check anything important before you act on it. The decisions about your business remain yours.
You may only enter websites, paste text and add images you are entitled to use. We read public web pages only, at a gentle pace, and we do not get around sites that refuse automatic readers. Please do not enter other people's personal details.
To keep the service fair and affordable we apply usage limits, which are shown on the page. A competitor whose product list you have downloaded stays fixed for a short period. We may change the limits, pause the AI for maintenance or cost reasons, or change or end the free trial without notice; we will give paying customers notice of any lasting reduction in what their plan includes.
Everything you add to your card remains yours. You give us permission to host and publish it for as long as you use the service — that permission is only so we can display your page, and ends when you remove the content or close your account.
You confirm that the content you publish is accurate, that you have the right to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights. You are responsible for what appears on your page, including any claims you make about your business.
You may not use webcards.co.uk to publish anything unlawful, misleading, or intended to deceive; to impersonate another business; to distribute malware; or to promote regulated products or services you are not authorised to offer.
Where content is clearly unlawful or harmful we may remove it without notice. In any other case, we will contact you first and give you a reasonable opportunity to put it right.
We aim to keep the service running continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, hosting failures and third-party outages can all cause downtime.
We do not offer a service level agreement on the free plan. For paid plans, if the service is unavailable for an extended period through our fault, contact us and we will credit your account fairly.
You may close your account at any time from your account settings or by emailing us.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where we are legally required to. Except where the breach is serious, we will give you notice and a chance to respond, and we will let you take a copy of your content.
We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We are not liable for lost profits, lost business, lost opportunity or reputational harm arising from your use of the service.
Where we are liable, our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period, or £100 if you are on the free plan.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
This service is provided to businesses. If you are a sole trader or an individual acting outside your trade, you may have additional statutory rights as a consumer, including a right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will email account holders at least 14 days beforehand. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, you may cancel.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own courts.
Email hello@webcards.co.uk for anything relating to these terms, your account, or your card. We aim to reply within one working day.
